Biography
Born out of the great creative catalyst that is small town boredom, Innuendo are a hard hitting grunge rock group whose main aim in anything they do is to put their listeners on the edge of their seats. Over the past two years the group have evolved through regular live shows in any venue that will have them. With influences ranging from Alice in Chains and The Pixies to The Kings of Leon and David bowie, Innuendo's music is both unique, simple, hard hitting and yet melodically intricate.
The band champions both energy and musicianship with all members contributing something to the overall sound of the band be it Erik Murphy's pounding rhythms, Aran Cathcart's virtuoso guitar playing, Sam Walsh's flowing bass lines or Cein O'Dowd's fierce vocals.
The Innuendo formula is simple; write the song, jam the song, argue about the song, rewrite the song, and finally if it makes it past the early steps, give the song it's live debut. Gigging in the locality has given Innuendo a grass roots support and a good reputation but now the band are ready to break out.
The group are currently promoting the release of their debut EP 'Infectious', recorded over an intense two days at Orchard Recording studios, Enniscorthy. The EP can be found on Deezer, Itunes, and Spotify. Happy listening.
Infectious EP
At its root ‘Infectious’ is a record written with the intention to infect the listener, leaving them on edge and uneasy. With contrasting sounds ranging from the psychedelic and abstract ‘A Man Called Pablo’s Theory of Transience’ to the biting and coarse bark of ‘Tunnel Vision’.
Throughout the album typical grunge themes recur, the guitars pave out a muted rhythm in in ‘Leave to Her’, letting the lyrics cut through the melancholic melody line. ‘Uneasy’ combines a bombastic verse with a hypnotic hook which succeeds in putting the listener well and truly on edge.
